Prayer

Our Father in your heaven bright
I thank you for this day.
Your strength upholds me day and night,
I know I'll be okay.

I feel your presence by my side
And turn to you in prayer.
Your power ranges far and wide,
Your grace is everywhere.

These humble words should let you know
I need your loving care.
Your gentle arms protect me, so
A smile I'll always wear.

Life's troubles bring uncertainty,
I falter and would fall
If from your throne of majesty
You failed to hear my call.

My heart knows I will never be
Beyond your blessed love.
All goodness which may come to me
Feels like it's from above.

My hope is that all worldly cares,
All petty strife and woe,
Will vanish like a child's nightmares,
Or sunshine-melted snow.

We know there is much more to life
Than battles, hate and war.
Such actions are the worst of life
The greatest waste by far.

We're members of God's family,
Black, white, or dusky tan.
God make us all that we should be
His children, maid and man.
